In February 2002, Kanagawa Prefecture designated two hundred and forty one artifacts
from the Ikego Archaeological Sites as Important Cultural Properties, in accordance
with the Law for the Protection of Cultural Properties.
This law is aimed at preserving and utilizing significant historical treasures.
These artifacts won wide recognition as the people's treasures because of their
historical significance. We will love, treasure, protect and pass on for future generations.
