Welcome to our survey field

Let's go into this exciting place.

I think we should wear casual outfits and be careful where you step because the ground is very slippery.

Here we are at site 7, discovered in September 1991. The Modern Age face is apparent. The old Ikego River is in the center of the site and some pits and pillar holes surround white line.

We should strip off the surface little by little.
Generally, the deeper we dig, the older the layers become.

We make a survey the points and levels where artifacts were unearthed and pick them up carefully. Please don't touch the discoveries during your visit.

Spits show the discovery points of each item. We input the data into a computer through an optical instrument. After washing the excavated artifacts, we pass them into the next process - organizing and measuring.

A wide variety of artifacts were excavated from other sites in Ikego, too.
Let's visit the scenes of some of the other excavations from 1989 to 1994.

Buried organic materials, including wooden tools, became at risk as soon as they were unearthed and came in contact with the air. These scenes, therefore, show the artifacts in their most perfectly preserved conditions.
Can you believe that this basket is two thousand years old ? It looks as if it could be used today.
